Is The Romanian Patriarchate already a heresy?
In 1992, the Romanian Orthodox Church (or BOR) signed the Balamand Accord in Lebanon, a document that recognized the Roman Catholic Church as a “Sister Church” and its mysteries as saving and valid. That in itself put BOR, and all the other signatories outside True Orthodoxy and the teachings of the Holy Fathers, but that does not seem to have satisfied the appetite of the apostate leaders of BOR. The Romanian Patriarchate found appropriate to further their apostasy by signing another document, binding it into an even more apostate unity: a communion with 5 heresies: The Evangelical Church, The Greek Catholic Church, The Roman Catholic Church, The Evangelical-Lutheran Church and The Reformed Church.
Metropolitan Andrei Andreicut of Cluj signed the document on behalf of BOR, which binds the whole of BOR to this unholy union. Unless Patriarch Daniel and/or the other bishops in the Synod take immediate action and back away (which we doubt will happen), this firmly puts BOR in the position of an apostate Church. A BOR bishop who remains silent and accepts this communion partakes into this heresy. It is important to note that a number of Orthodox canons, including that of NOT praying together with heretics, have been broken, but if you asked them they will tell you that they are the “canonical” Church and everyone else is outside Orthodoxy.
Here is the translation of the article quoted above (from Romanian)
Representatives of six historic churches in Transylvania, bishops and priests, signed on Sunday at Bistrita a “declaration of cooperation, and fraternal and ecumenical collaboration” after an ecumenical prayer organized to commemorate the 450th anniversary of the dedication of the Evangelical Church in Bistrita . Representatives of historic churches in Transylvania – Augustan Evangelicalical, Orthodox, Greek Catholic, Roman Catholic, Evangelical-Lutheran and Reformed – attended Sunday service at the Ecumenical Evangelical Church Bistrita, where there were over a thousand people. The event began with a religious procession, headed by their representatives to the Evangelical Church, after which the dignitaries met in front of the place of worship, where they were welcomed by Mayor Bistrita, Ovidiu Cretu, and joined together in the Church. Parish priest of the Evangelical Church in Bistrita, Johann Dieter Krauss said it is a memorable day and that the event “raised the church to the rank of ecumenical cathedral”.
Each of the participants gave a sermon and at the end they said together “Our Father” in Romanian, German and Hungarian. Between moments of prayer prelates band sang “Werkolkkapelle Neumarkt” in Germany and various choirs of participant churches. “We showed people that before God the Church is one. How beautiful it is when brothers are together! All churches are important, but in the eyes of God are one,” said Augustan Lutheran Church Bishop in Romania Reinhart Guib. “Celebrating 450 years together raising this impressive church. Share the joy of the evangelical community. This place of prayer is a sacred space. Monumental foundation of past ages talks clearly about people’s faith,” said Metropolitan Andrei Andreicut (BOR).
At the end of prayer ecumenical dignitaries signed six copies of the “Bistrita Declaration”, the “ecumenical collaboration and brotherly cooperation” between historical churches in Transylvania. “We have prepared a surprise for this day of celebration. At the initiative of Bistrita’s Mayor Ovidiu Cretu, and after consultation with the participating churches, we have agreed to subscribe to a declaration of cooperation and collaboration and ecumenical fraternity between our churches,” said Bishop Reinhart Guib .
“The Bistrita Declaration” was signed by Archbishop Andrei Andreicut, Metropolitan of Cluj, Bishop Reinhart Guib of Augustan Evangelical Confession, Reformed Hungarian Bishop Kato-Bela, Lutheran Bishop of Cluj Adorjani Zoltan Dezso, Greek Catholic Bishop of Cluj Florentin Crihalmeanu and Gyorgy Jakubinyi, Roman Catholic archbishop.
