Let the Worldly Orthodox Show Begin
The most important trait of Orthodox Christians under charismatic revival influences (the spirit of Francis of Assissi) is the desire to be seen by others, not by God, as being a “true believer”. Their image in the eyes of the people and the world is their primary concern. They do not do the good things out of sight, but in the sight of everyone so they can justify themselves before the eyes of the world rather than before God. Let the wordly show of Orthodoxy begin!

Out of the whole of Russia, could they not have found someone else to lead the battle of “saving Orthodoxy” less connected to the troubled past of the communist Russia? Is it that someone who’s grandfather was both Stalin’s and Lenin’s personal chef, and who also publicly likened the corpse of Lenin to the Holy Relics of the Kiev Caves or Mount Athos saints, the best positioned to defend Holy Orthodoxy? Tragic, really tragic.

And why needing a doomsday plane as your “guardian angel” following you everywhere? Is the faith in God not enough?
Here is what a true Orthodox Tsar’s attitude used to be – about Tsar Nicholas I, page 59 in the Orthodox Survival Course:
“… what he did on the 14th of December when he was faced with the rebellion of the Decembrists. “„Being left alone, I asked myself what to do and, crossing myself, I gave myself over to the hands of God, and decided to go myself wherever the danger threatened greatest.‟ And he admitted later that at this time besides this decision, he had no definite plan of action, but to trust in God.““
