Syria
Message to a Romanian News Agency (28.08.2013):
“I wrote to you some two years ago and somebody from your agency contacted me to talk about the conflict, from here, in Syria. I write to you again to tell you that we, the (Romanian) community, follow your television transmissions, every day, and we get nourished with what you are emitting from country and from overseas.
In spite of living this drama directly, a drama produced by this ugly and endless war, many times we listen to the way such events are seen from Romania… We are here a large Romanian community, and of the 14,000 people that they say that we are counted for, I do not believe that 3,000 of them left, with all the insistence and demands from the Embassy or Foreign Affair Department…
Do they not understand that we cannot leave? We cannot leave our families and homes, after staying for a long time… If we go back to Romania, we stay sometime there, but what can we do there, how can we feed ourselves, us and our children, if we already are here for 25 years, most of us, so we always return here, in Syria…
I live in Hama; just two hours ago a powerful explosion occurred, by which the Mayor, a man who was special and loved by people, lost his life… together with children and women…
The hospitals are full of wounded people. I write to you, having tears in my eyes, that Bashar regime is a wonderful regime, and nothing of what they say about him is true… The rebels are paid by the great powers to do disorder and to kill. People got tired of lying. For some time, the Syrian Arab Army was in Hama and we were turning calm and assured …
They were patrolling on the streets and we were feeling protected. People went to work. We all tried to forget of what was happening in other parts of the country. The rebels threatened us that ‘we were a quiet city’ and today so many people died…
Two days ago you heard about the massacre near Damascus. The Syrian State, Bashar’s Army do not do such things… We know for sure that the great powers want to destroy Syria, too. That is why I wrote to you. I know that you can’t do much, but we, the Romanian community from here, know the American maneuvers which have destroyed Egypt and Iraq. Syria has her turn, and then they will sleep peacefully. They removed Mubarak of Egypt for what reason? Because that country was a prosperous touristic country, a powerful country. As you could see now, it is a mess.
In Iraq, they were saying that they had to find Saddam’s chemical weapons. Crazy! They destroyed Iraq and they killed him and still they found nothing… the great powerful states want to destroy some of the Arab countries. It is a dirty political game by which ordinary people are suffering…
I am pensive of what we can do with our children, because if they start bombing they will not look at anything else… they want another war to win, a war that nobody is asking for. Nobody asks for their help!!
I wrote these because I felt this need to tell you… because two hours ago, approximately, tens of innocent people died, in Hama. What is war? I wish that war would be a direct fight between presidents… If they have something against each other, they must act honestly not to hide behind so many crimes…
I thank you for reading these lines! We will keep in touch!”
