With sorrow in our hearts we have to let you know that our website received an infringement notice regarding the publication of Fr Seraphim Rose’s Orthodox Survival Course which was subsequently taken down by wordpress.com. The copyright notice was issued by Fr. Damascene Christensen at St. Herman of Alaska Brotherhood who claimed that “The St. Herman of Alaska Brotherhood holds the copyright of all the works of the late founder of our monastery, the priest-monk and author Fr. Seraphim Rose (see his books on our website: www.sainthermanpress.com). For several years we have been preparing Fr. Seraphim’s “Orthodox Survival Course” for publication, transcribing taped lectures and incorporating Fr. Seraphim’s detailed written outline. We have given out a small number of hard copies of drafts of this book to trusted friends for review, asking them to give the drafts to no one. The notice “Copyright by the St. Herman of Alaska Brotherhood) is on the first page of each of these drafts. One of the earlier drafts (missing some of the endnote citations that are in the latest draft) was some how acquired by the creators of the “Orthodox Views” blog, who do not identify themselves on their blog; and they are now offering it for free download as a PDF”

Holy Father Seraphim, please intercede for us the sinners, from amongst the Saints where you ascended, that we may be enlightened to continue the work that you started for the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ and His Holy Mother
