Pope Francis ready to accept gay priests

How far down the way of abominations road does Roman-Catholicism have to travel before people see what is happening? “Who am I to judge a gay person of goodwill who seeks the Lord?” said pope Francis when asked how the Catholic hierarchy should respond to clerics who are gay.

How can the Holy Spirit work trough a priest who is gay? What is a gay priest going to tell other people when asked the same question? Is he going to tell them that it is OK to be gay and Christian? How is this priest going to explain to the people what the reason was for which Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed by God with fire – that they should not take everything in the Bible seriously? Or what other explanation will they offer? What kind of truth are they going to confess – the truth of the Bible or their own “custom tailored” one?

There are numerous references in Scripture with regard to same sex relations and sexual activity. Starting with Genesis 19 where there is reference to homosexual activity among the men in Sodom (hence the term sodomy), as well as in Leviticus (18:22, 20:13) which makes reference to the adopted “Holiness Code” and the penalty for such an action — “If there is a man who lies with a male as those be with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act” — was death. The Old Testament viewed sexual relations to be “normal” as those between a man and woman with the express purpose of procreation. This view, thinking, and teaching continued to the New Testament as well with St. Paul writing most extensively on this subject. He condemns prostitution and homosexuality in 1 Cor. (6:9-10): “Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither the immoral nor the idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals (arsenokoitai), nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor robbers shall inherit the kingdom of God.”

So what kind of Christianity is this pope promoting? Certainly not a divine Christianity, but a very worldly one – and the most recent example – the mass on a beach in Brazil attended by 3 million people. What an odd place to have the Holy Liturgy celebrated – on a beach – it made it all feel like a rock concert or a South-American soccer game – what difference was there after all? “They danced, prayed and sang – and stood in long lines in front of the armadas of portable bathrooms along the beachfront” the article states. And take a look at the pictures, on the “altar” table there is not one Cross, neither there is any in the background or anywhere else – it feels like they are not even worshiping Christ but some kind of universal God.

The apostasy is universal, Roman-Catholicism is far gone, but the sad thing is the mainstream Orthodoxy is following right behind. The propaganda is everywhere, there is even a site dedicated to Orthodox gays (if you can believe it!). Here is what they say:

There are two main guiding principles of this website: One: The Orthodox Church is the Bride of Christ. Two: Being gay is a gift of God, the Creator. Therefore expressing that gift in a healthy and mature relationship is also blessed by God.

An abomination that is “blessed by God”? Do they not read the scriptures that say it is the evil one that destroys God’s work? How can everything be blessed by God? These so called Orthodox Christians are nothing less than impostors that cannot differentiate between the “good seed” and the enemy that destroys it. In Matthew 13:24-30 we can read:

24. Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:
25. But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.
26. But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.
27. So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares?
28. He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?
29. But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.
30. Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

Unfortunately the list of so called “orthodox resources” dedicated to the subject goes on and on. How about an Inclusive Orthodoxy that “seeks a revitalization of the faith, which is both orthodox in theology and grounded in the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ—a message of love, a proclamation of hope for the oppressed, an invitation towards all regardless of race, ethnicity, sex, gender, gender identity, or sexual orientation.”

It is hard to not notice here elements of “liberation theology” and “social justice” (hope for the oppressed?), about which we talk extensively on our website.

Even Huffington Post has an orthodox writer who can’t really see any problem for the Orthodox in accepting gay marriage.

So does the Pope’s statement “who am I to judge a gay person of goodwill who seeks the Lord?” really stand? Traditionally, the Orthodox Church, and in part the Roman Catholic for that matter, have always condemned homosexuality as a sin – would you call this judging? Were all the Holy Fathers that gathered for the ecumenical councils held throughout the history to affirm the True Faith and condemn heresies such as Arianism judging? The form of “judgement” the pope hides behind is nothing more than “politically correctness” and has nothing to do with True Faith. It is in fact an anti-christian idea in nature because what he is actually saying is that a gay priest can be saved and can save others, without having to cleanse this heavy sin and repent first!
