The Orthodox and the “tablet”
We all nearly forgot the way things were once, but we still can ask the question: how is that possible that a civilised world, based on Christian principals, went away, becoming antichristian to the core? Our contemporary modern society becomes worse, in terms of that normality with that Christian set of rules that used to be somehow significantly present and followed by almost everybody. These laws are vanishing completely, today. The new proposed and voted laws (allowing “gay” marriage, the pushing towards euthanasia, etc.) are emerging quickly, in the general apathetic atmosphere given by well established institutions, in this “wealthy” and materialistic society. The “great” expansion of gadgetry of all types, sold as “information technology” growing without limits is rather a trap to any normal human being.
A very short inventory of this spread must be done by looking at the technological advancement and the changes happening under our own eyes in the fabric of this modern society. This contemporary world shows a deep feminisation of men and a strong masculinisation of women. These particular changes could be detected into many realms, such as: fashion (businesses led by homosexuals and lesbians), languages spoken (English developed this anti-Christian political correctness), family (satanic unions promoted), education (with the plethora of fake concepts, like the theory of evolution taught in schools) and household machines (all being run by computers), for instance. The old good tools are now “antiquity”.
One can say that the disappearing of letters, books and all hand-written documentations, replaced by the digital versions, wouldn’t be the worst problem. The invasions of all forms of products, which play the roles of spiritual entities, are gathering now. For instance, the soft touch screens, the 3-D monitors, the computerised tools and vehicles replace a spiritual life, which used to be more or less Christian. People stopped dreaming and imagining or praying to the Invisible Realm, because there are so many captivating images and sounds around… If the angel cried or a saint appeared, such visions would be dismissed, as the “powerful” images of the internet, on television or on the mobile became so “real”, in this very ordinary world… It means that the higher the “refinement”, the worse the falling, becomes quite real.
Such extra-refined tools of the digital can change and do change the habits and the usual movements of man, by confiscating the practical and good skills. The calculator stops people doing any arithmetic, the email stops people to send letters, the computerised car stops people learning to park own car, the GPS stops people reading a map, the iPod stops people enjoying music collectively, the mobile phone makes people being tracked down by anyone at all time, the digital camera stops people remembering anything but the excitement of the “new”, etc., etc.
These so dominant images of the world (“Art History”!!!) want to replace the Icon of Christ and even to “dismiss” any apparition of the Divine Angels. Again, one can say that the higher the refinement of technology, the lower the possibility of man to admit the Reality of the Unseen and Godly World…
