  • Orthodox Survival Course keeps being removed from WordPress

Dear readers, the powers that be keep deleting the Orthodox Survival Course from the WordPress servers. It is clear that Blessed Seraphim Roses’ work is an inconvenient truth that they would rather not have known to the world.

We have just reinstated the file, but if you do come across our Ennobling Literature page and encounter an error trying to download it, please let us know at admin [at] orthodoxaustralia.org and we will send you a copy.

  • Pope’s visit to Jerusalem

There are some important developments currently under way Orthodox Christians need to be aware of, as it may appear that jesuit Pope’s visit in Jerusalem in May could become a very important moment.

Apparently, according to a number of sources, the event may be used to announce a historical “peace” accord resulting in “giving ownership of the Western Wall to the Jews, the Temple Mount to the Muslims and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and Mount Zion to the Christians“.

    http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/Flash.aspx/285554

Netanyahu asked Rabbi to allow giving David’s Tomb to Vatican:

    http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/180149

A peace accord may be announced between Israel and the Palestinians. Do not let yourselves be carried away by the moment, rather remember what happened to the doves pope Francis released a short few weeks ago. Think therefore twice that such a moment can rather quickly turn to disaster.

The times Elder Paisios (and others) of Mount Athos warned about seem to be at hand.

    Thessalonians 5:3
“For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.”

  • BRICS and the Dragon of the Apocalypse

    11. “And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon”.

    12. “And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed”.

The second beast of the Apocalypse we started to present in our earlier post titled The Dragon of The Apocalypse seems to start taking a more physical, palpable form, as the verse suggests by saying “coming up out of the earth”, the idea starts to materialize again (the beast that was and is not but it shall appear again), it moves from the spiritual (ideological) realm inside the earth (hell) to the physical realm.

A quick google search for possible BRICS emblems reveals the following:

  • Let the Worldly Orthodox Show Begin

The most important trait of Orthodox Christians under charismatic revival influences (the spirit of Francis of Assissi) is the desire to be seen by others, not by God, as being a “true believer”. Their image in the eyes of the people and the world is their primary concern. They do not do the good things out of sight, but in the sight of everyone so they can justify themselves before the eyes of the world rather than before God. Let the wordly show of Orthodoxy begin!

    http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-04-27/russian-doomsday-plane-flies-4th-consecutive-day-accompanies-putin-spiritual-mission

Is it right for a “humble” orthodox leader to allegedly have billions in property?

    http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-04-27/quest-find-putins-billions

Out of the whole of Russia, could they not have found someone else to lead the battle of “saving Orthodoxy” less connected to the troubled past of the communist Russia? Is it that someone who’s grandfather was both Stalin’s and Lenin’s personal chef, and who also publicly likened the corpse of Lenin to the Holy Relics of the Kiev Caves or Mount Athos saints, the best positioned to defend Holy Orthodoxy? Tragic, really tragic.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vladimir_Putin

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/russia/9737569/Vladimir-Putin-compares-Lenin-to-holy-Christian-relics.html

And why needing a doomsday plane as your “guardian angel” following you everywhere? Is the faith in God not enough?

Here is what a true Orthodox Tsar’s attitude used to be – about Tsar Nicholas I, page 59 in the Orthodox Survival Course:

“… what he did on the 14th of December when he was faced with the rebellion of the Decembrists. “„Being left alone, I asked myself what to do and, crossing myself, I gave myself over to the hands of God, and decided to go myself wherever the danger threatened greatest.‟ And he admitted later that at this time besides this decision, he had no definite plan of action, but to trust in God.““

  • Putin has “betrayed” the “New World Order”

    http://www.infowars.com/top-u-s-diplomat-russia-has-betrayed-the-new-world-order/

In an article in August of last year we said this:

“Another puppet media outlet, The New York Times released this must-see mini-documentary, called “Stellar Wind” (the name of the biggest NSA spying center in Utah, due to be completed in Sep 2013): http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=6PIPHNlAxY4. Why? After all David Rockefeller thanked Washington Post and The New York Times for their contribution to helping complete the plans of the elite for the humanity. What evidence is there for us to believe that Washington Post and The New York Times have stopped playing that role?“

In mid April, just a few days ago, two of the “prestigious publications” won the Pulitzer Prize – more propaganda in trying to convince you they are on your side …

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/washington-post-wins-pulitzer-prize-for-public-service-shared-with-guardian/2014/04/14/bc7c4cc6-c3fb-11e3-bcec-b71ee10e9bc3_story.html

Ever since the Snowden revelations, the publications have been trying hard to appear to have sided with the resistance movement against the establishment. Did they stop playing a leading role in pushing the agenda for humanity David Rockefeller talked about? Very unlikely – the resistance movement is in fact part of the same plan.

The story about Putin is simply just another effort in rallying the masses behind the “solution” being prepared for the humanity – the subject most written about in our articles, and the mass media will play a big part into trying to convince you.

Lacking the correct Orthodox context and understanding, as much as they have been doing a great job showing all the iniquities in the West, all western alternative media outlets are falling into this trap …

  • Prophecies of St Hieromartyr Hermogenes, Bishop Of Tobolsk

“During the times of Antichrist the place of idols will be taken by those in power through the promotion of worldly wisdom, and will demand worship for themselves; anyone who will obey the laws of civil society of those times, although without directly clashing with the faith, he/she will be a partaker into the dominion of Antichrist. This is when the separation of the good from the bad will begin, the separation of those who do the will of God from the servants of Antichrist.

The true believers, in the kingdom of Antichrist – the end time society, will live in solitude, away from the world. They will not obey any laws of the civic society. Those who recognize and obey the laws of society, even unwillingly, they shall be sharers in the kingdom of antichrist and be cast off from God.

During the reign of Antichrist the evil mind will act politically, without touching people’s faith brutally. They will be given equal rights, all the sects will have full freedom, even though eventually the antichrist will dismiss all sects and religions. The Antichrist will act with morality and seek to persuade and hurt souls towards spiritual death.

The right to preach and to “legally” perform the church services will be given only to those who obey the laws and do not violate the “discipline” (reference to laws of the coming “canonical” Pan-Orthodox Synod?). Places of worship will be under strict supervision by the same earthly authority that has placed itself as the head of The Church instead of Christ, and will not serve Christ, but the Antichrist. But blinded Christians will not notice anything, although this could be understood even by a little child.

The dominion of Antichrist will therefore take all under strict control, to know who is obedient and who is not; as Father Laurence of Chernigov wrote, “then they will get you to the church by force.” However some will not be persecuted from the beginning, to keep the appearances of freedom of conscience. Only toward the end, in those fallen days, when all will find themselves annihilated into the kingdom of Babylon and the wrath of God will be close, orders will be given out that all those who “rebel against humanity” and “against authority” be eliminated, just like they were ordinary criminals, and all other people shall receive these “measures” with enthusiasm.”

  • Global Currency Reset update

It may appear that the Americans could not be persuaded to sign up for the IMF reforms, yet. What appeared to be an April deadline the Russians gave America to accept the reformation of IMF (see http://orthodoxaustralia.org/2014/03/09/ukraine-who-is-behind-the-crisis), seems to have been pushed to the end of the year.

Initially they wanted America to comply by April

Now they are saying, even in more “categorical” terms, America has until the end of 2014

  • Keep your mind on Hades and despair not

“If someone is teaching you outside of the things which the Holy Church received from the Holy Apostles, Fathers and Synods and preserved up till now, do not listen to him…, close your ears.” (St. John Damascene)

“The positive teaching of the Church serves to know whether a concept is from the Truth. This is a litmus test for all teachings. Whatever agrees with it, you should accept it, whatever does not, reject. One can do it without further deliberations.” (St. Theophan the Recluse)

“The Church of Christ is not comprised of the many, but of those who keep the correct and saving confession of faith, even if they are few.” (St. Theodore Studite)

On the Holy week of the Passion of Christ, there is no better question to ask ourselves than “well, what does it mean for me”? The answer is profound and should be centered against answering another question: “am I prepared for my own passion week? am I ready to really follow in the path of Christ and endure all the persecutions and slender everyone will have to face in the name of Christ at some point in their lives”? And how can one look at the world today and not despair? Christ did not come for this world, as He Himself said, but for those He picked from this world and no longer belong to the world, which is rapidly heading for disaster. So what should we do and how should we “escape” it? The answer was given to us by St. Silouan the Athonite who showed us the ascetic way to confront the challenges of the present age of general apostasy: keep your mind on Hades and despair not.
    (must read: http://www.bogoslov.ru/en/text/1243244.html)

Excerpt from the article on St Silouan:
Be that as it may, what does this sentence, “Keep your mind on Hades and despair not,” really mean? The Lord suggested to Silouan that he descend to Hades and Silouan, in turn, calls this downward movement the “great science,” which put his soul to the rest. By plunging into Hades, the soul is humbled and the heart breaks. By the same token, evil thoughts are removed from one’s mind, and divine Grace finds a place to dwell inside the faithful person. Just as Christ with his passion plunged into Hades, only to be raised again triumphant towards Heaven, so does He now calls Silouan to walk into hell, with everything that such a downward spiral entails (the inner darkness and loneliness of one’s total isolation from every communion with God and fellow humans), so as to accomplish a spiritual victory akin to that of his Lord. Real saints deem themselves unworthy before God, whereas to all those assured of their inner worth asking for a lift to Heaven, the Lord says “You know not what you are asking for.” Hades is the spiritual realm that isolates man from God, manifesting one’s spiritual bankruptcy. It must be kept in mind, however, that this is a hopeful situation, for an awareness of one’s own bankruptcy fills the soul with remorse; it is the first-fruit, the very beginning of repentance, thanks to which God can now make a dwelling to the grieving soul. St. Symeon the New Theologian calls this state a “spiritual gallantry” because in it, the faithful person is not given to despair but is capable instead of conquering his fears and sorrow, finding new hope in God’s mercy. Genuine contrition leads, according to St. John the Sinanite, to exoneration from divine judgment and eternal condemnation. Self-criticism breeds contrition, leads to repentance, defeats enemies, frees us from the fetters of sin and renders the humbled person a participant of the Holy Spirit. The same view was held by St. Gregory Palamas, who noted that humility and self-criticism are the spiritual resources for overcoming all evil. Our temporary, self-inflicted condemnation thus spares us the horror of God’s upcoming judgment. In a manner similar to Silouan’s, other famed Church Fathers such as Anthony the great, Sisoes, Makarius, Poimen, to mention but a few, consented to undergo this experience of Hades in their earthly lives. In particular, Silouan had in mind an incident that had occurred to St. Anthony as he praying to God, asking for a clue as to the height of virtue he had attained by that time. It was then pointed out to him that, in fact, “Anthony you have not yet reached the pinnacle of virtue accomplished by this [plain] shoemaker in Alexandria. Curious, Anthony set out to meet this man in Alexandria and learn about his way of living. The shoemaker told Anthony that he gave one third of his earnings to the Church, one third to the poor, and kept the other one third for his own needs. Anthony, who had relinquished his entire fortune and lived in the desert, was naturally not impressed, and so revealed to the shoemaker that he was sent there by God to observe his conduct. The shoemaker, who revered Anthony, answered rather apprehensively: “Abba, I don’t think I have ever done anything good in my life, which is why every time I get up from bed to get to work, I say to myself that the entire city, from the youngest to the oldest member, shall enter the Kingdom of Heaven, because of their good deeds. I, on the other hand, am the sole person who will inherit hell as a result of my sins. And I go over the same line right before bed time: all shall be saved, save for myself.” The Alexandrian shoemaker spoke plainly, as meekly and straightforwardly as did Anthony, Sisoes, Poemen, and other Church Fathers. Yet the power of their simple discourse, like its latent depth, are in fact off limits to those deprived of such experiences, i.e. to all those who have never felt the agony of Hades and are incapable of self-criticism. But anyone who spares himself or herself the sorrow of self-criticism is by definition cut off from the Holy Spirit and the divine Grace that the Paraclete dispenses. St. Silouan is categorical in this matter: “it was the Lord Himself who taught me how I ought to humble myself. ‘Keep you mind in Hades and despair not.’ This is how our spiritual enemies are defeated. But as soon as my mind overlooks the fires of hell, the dark thoughts resurface all over again.”

The experience of hell is nowadays a concrete and very real situation faced by a great many people who find themselves coping with all kinds of dead-ends, including many that they have created for themselves. Beset with ever pressing problems, human beings very often look to various forms of escapism as a way of gaining momentary relief from pressure, usually by resorting to hedonism and luxuries, which function as artificial substitutes of life. As a result of this consumerist attitude to life, people are increasingly alienated from God and from one another. The first half of the Lord’s injunction to Silouan suggests that making Hades the temporary dwelling place of one’s mind, along with repentance and humility, are the sole means of healing one’s soul. The other half of the Lord’s instruction is meant to provide hope for a final redemption. By willingly embracing self-condemnation and voluntarily descending to Hades in obedience to Christ’s command, the faithful Christian manages to overcome temptations and, more importantly, shows that one’s love for Christ is far stronger than death, as Christ Himself first taught us by His own example, when for our sake He trampled death by death. Thus, too, is humankind proven to be above the world and its natural decay and determinisms, emulating Christ in His decisive victory over death, accomplished by an act of utter humility.

    What a profound thought!

What then “keeping one’s mind on hades and despair not” may mean for us? Maintaining awareness of the iniquities of this world and understanding their nature and how they are going to affect us is the most obvious way – because, let’s face it, the noose is tightening – do we not all feel like the whole Hell has come here on Earth? So by looking at the world today and seeing what is coming, is that not like keeping our minds on Hades?

St. Silouan tells us to not despair. He does not tell us to take up arms and fight, or to join any charismatic movement that opposes it, but just to stay calm, do not despair and put all our faith in God. We are too little to fight the forces of the coming Antichrist and over-zealousness can nudge us to the other side of the road.

If we were asked to summarize everything (the unfolding of the the mystery of iniquity) in just one phrase, it would sound like this:

The iniquities in the West are designed to “awaken” the people (the sort of awakening the establishment likes), then they feed our repulsion feelings and passions, stoke the charismatic revival fire that inflames the desire to ask for change and unity in the face of evil, seek wordly justice, organize the resistance, and then push everyone on board the train that leads to the arrival of the Antichrist who will have all the answers and solutions.

The preparations are quite visible on all fronts: in the spiritual realm the solution will be presented to us in the form of the “Great, Canonical and Holy Synod” of 2016 (of which we have already written about). On the political front they are shaping a unified response to the iniquities of the west as well:

    http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-04-16/brics-consider-creating-imf-alternative-us-loses-credibility

Over the course of more than a year we highlighted on many occasions the importance Russia and Moscow Patriarchate would play in dictating the directions events would turn. The recent developments only come to strengthen the case. Let us thus say, just like St. Silouan the Athonite, yes, this is where things are going and Hell is becoming unleashed, but I shall not despair as Christ is my savior who came into the world for me the sinner, endured all persecutions, died on the Cross and then resurrected to show me the path to my salvation.

  • More on the Pan-Orthodox Synod of 2016

More details have surfaced on the long awaited synod we briefly talked about in a previous post. The most important of all is probably the word “unanimous”!

    http://www.asianews.it/news-en/Fanar:-Churches-reach-agreement-on-pan-Orthodox-Holy-Synod-in-2016-30509.html

“According to some reports, the great Synod of the Orthodox Churches will be attended by 20 bishops from each Church (if each church has that many), every church will have a single vote during the final voting , decisions will be taken by consensus (ie, by the unanimous vote of the Fathers present).”

    http://www.johnsanidopoulos.com/2014/03/great-and-holy-pan-orthodox-synod-to.html

“The objections mainly came from Moscow who demanded better preparation, a preparatory committee, and a decision by consensus. The Great and Holy Synod of the Orthodox Church will therefore take place in two years in Constantinople (Istanbul) in the historic Church of Hagia Irene, and, according to sources, from each Church 20 Hierarchs will participate instead of 13 which was the original plan. They will each have one vote and decisions will be made by a unanimous vote. The Ecumenical Patriarch will preside over this Synod.”

A couple of key points being made are, firstly that Moscow demanded “better preparation”. This is very vague. It sounds like the world is not ready yet, but it may be by 2016?

Secondly, the decisions will have to be adopted by unanimity. This is essential. The key to understanding what this means may be found in Blessed Seraphim Roses’ Orthodox Survival Course (you can still download on our website).

Page 74 (on Dostoyevsky’s Grand Inquisitor): “So that, in truth, Thou didst Thyself lay the foundation for the destruction of Thy kingdom, and no one is more to blame for it. Yet what was offered Thee? [Fr. S’s notes continue:] There are three powers, three powers alone, able to conquer and to hold captive for ever the conscience of these impotent rebels for their happiness — those forces are miracle, mystery and authority. [not in Fr. S’s notes:] Thou hast rejected all three and hast set the example for doing so. When the wise and dread spirit set Thee on the pinnacle of the temple and said to Thee, “If Thou wouldst know whether Thou art [end of p. 264, but Fr. S’s Anarchism notes continue:] Man seeks not so much God as the miraculous. And as man cannot bear to be without the miraculous, he will create new miracles of his own for himself, and will worship deeds of sorcery and witchcraft, though he might be a hundred times a rebel, heretic and infidel…. Thou wouldst not enslave man by a miracle, and didst crave faith given freely, not based on miracle…. Man is weaker and baser by nature than Thou hast believed him!… By showing him so much respect, Thou didst, as it were, cease to feel for him, for Thou didst ask far too much from him — Thou who hast loved him more than Thyself! Respecting him less, Thou wouldst have asked less of him. That would have been more like love, for his burden would have been lighter…. Canst Thou have simply come to the elect and for the elect? But if so, it is a mystery and we cannot understand it…. We have corrected Thy work and have founded it upon miracle, mystery and authority…. Did we not love mankind, so meekly acknowledging their feebleness, lovingly lightening their burden, and permitting their weak nature even sin with our sanction? …we took from him what Thou didst reject in scorn, that last gift he offered Thee, showing Thee all the kingdoms of the earth. We took from him Rome and the sword of Caesar, and proclaimed ourselves sole rulers of the earth,… but we shall triumph and shall be Caesars, and then we shall plan the universal happiness of man…. all that man seeks on earth — that is, someone to worship, someone to keep his conscience, and some means of uniting all in one unanimous ant-heap, for the craving for universal unity is the third and last anguish of men. Mankind as a whole has always striven to organize a universal state…. Oh, the ages are yet to come of the confusion of free thought, of their science and cannibalism. For having begun to build their tower of Babel without us, they will end, of course, with cannibalism. But then the beast will crawl to us and lick our feet…. And we shall sit upon the beast and raise the cup, and on it will be written, ‘Mystery’ But then, and only then, the reign of peace and happiness will come for men. Thou art proud of Thine elect, while we give rest to all. And besides, how many of those elect, those mighty ones who could become elect, have grown weary waiting for Thee, and have transferred and will transfer the powers of their spirit and the warmth of their heart to the other camp, and end by raising their free banner against Thee…. Freedom, free thought, and science will lead them into such straights and will bring them face to face with such marvels and insoluble mysteries, that some of them, the fierce and rebellious, will destroy themselves, others, rebellious but weak, will destroy one another, while the rest, weak and unhappy, will crawl fawning to our feet and whine to us: ‘Yes, you were right, you alone possess His mystery, and we come back to you, save us from ourselves!’ …And all will be happy, all the millions of creatures except the hundred thousand who rule over them. For only we, we who guard the mystery, shall be unhappy…. Peacefully they will die, peacefully they will expire in Thy name, and beyond the grave they will find nothing but death. But we shall keep the secret, and for their happiness we shall allure them with the reward of heaven and eternity.” [The Grand Inquisitor will] lead men consciously to death and destruction, and yet deceive them all the way so that they may not notice where they are being led, that the poor blind creatures may at least on the way think themselves happy. [Continued from Nietzsche lecture tape:] The Grand Inquisitor says, how can you love humanity? It‟s just awful, or, loathsome kind of creature, this fallen creature? You can take care of them and give them everything they need, but how can you love them? And Christ is the one who loves humanity.

And on page 130 (About the Antichrist): “The emperor, pale but calm, addressed the assembly: „You have seen God‟s judgment. I did not wish for anyone‟s death, but my heavenly Father avenges his beloved son. The case is settled. Who would dare to oppose the Almighty? Secretaries! write: “The ecumenical council of all Christians, when the fire from heaven had struck the insane opponent of the divine majesty, unanimously recognized the mighty emperor of Rome and the world as their supreme leader and lord.”‟”

Unanimity is essential for the arrival of the Antichrist. So how is this unanimity going to be achieved? Firstly we can see that there is a limit on the number of bishops attending from each country. They will be “cherry-picked”. Secondly, those who understand what this unity will be about may not want to participate in the first place.

Ok, but will there not be just one Bishop who will vote no? Well, if they are keeping silent today, they will be silent then. Right now we only know of one Bishop in the “canonical” Churches world that speaks the truth – His Eminence Bishop Seraphim of Piraeus. Others have already been deposed – like Bishop Artemie in Serbia.

But how are the Greek / Russian differences going to be reconciled? Let’s say the Greeks will owe the Russians a favor? Elder Paisios of Mount Athos once said:

“The English and the Americans will give us Constantinopole, not because they love us but because this will be consistent with their interests … Greece won’t play a leading role in that war, but they’ll (the Russians) give her back Constantinople. Not because the Russians adore the Greeks, but because no better solution will be found. The city will be handed over to the Greek Army even before it has a chance to get there”

  • We started to get strange phone calls

We are posting this alert because it seems they started to become “interested” in us. A few weeks ago one of us was followed by a white SUV on our way back from Church. Also we are getting all sorts of strange calls from various numbers. If we don’t answer they never leave a message. If we do they say it is wrong number. The calls always have the same individual with an arabic accent at the other end. They probably thought to “use” a third party so it is not obvious who is really behind it. We are saving proof of all these occurrences just in case …

If what we are saying is so far fetched from reality why would anyone care? Aparently someone does …

Please keep us in your prayers.
