  • On interpreting prophecies about the end times.

I have been asked how the prophecies about the coming war (and the 30 year peace after that) actually reconcile with the clear signs we can observe today pointing to an imminent coming of the Antichrist? Various Holy Fathers seem to have different opinions on how close we actually are to the arriving of the man of sin.

The general tendency i can observe today is that people like to choose one interpretation (or what they think that interpretation is) of a prophecy (or two), but completely ignore other prophecies. For example St Lavrentii of Cernigov was telling some young nuns in 1948 that they would live to see the antichrist. Other prophecies (of greek origin) talk about a coming war and a 30 year period of relative peace after that, before the coming of the Antichrist. The general observation is that the prophecies of Russian origin seem to be more of the opinion that the arrival of the antichrist is nearer than what those of Greek origin would say. So how does one reconcile these apparently different positions?

Surely, for me personally pick-and-choosing is not satisfactory, as that does not really offer an answer.

My position relative to this situation is to reiterate what Fr Seraphim Rose said: watching the signs of the times. That is the only absolute criteria we have. And we can see all the signs are here already. How the prophecies are interpreted is usually a relative thing, more or less. If we ignore these clear signs and rely only on a specific prophecy (while ignoring other prophecies that seem to contradict that particular point of view) we risk falling in yet another trap: of thinking that the end is too far off to worry, or it will happen tomorrow. Of course both options still remain a possibility but we must not be too hard-rooted in our position. This could be a real trap. We must remain very vigilant and open minded at the same time. The devil is very inventive and nimble, and he knows all the prophecies too (which he will try to use to his advantage).

I firmly believe the problem is not with the prophecies themselves (i am sure all of them will turn out to be true). I believe the problem is trying to be too rigid into interpreting them, which will most likely land us on a wrong path as well! Here we have yet another trap we can fall into and we must be careful.

And i will give you an example. Blessed Iustin Parvu fully acknowledged that the prophecy about the 30 year peace after the war was valid, but left the door open to the idea that the war could have already happened or is happening while the 30 year period may very well be in progress. He suggested that in this instance “war” may not refer to a physical war (as common wisdom would normally dictate). It may be a spiritual war rather than a hot war. Here is what he said in an interview in 2010:

“But a fierce war will come, and after the war there must be those 30 years of peace, after which the antichrist will be crowned. But the war has already begun. We are already in a climatic and biotronic war. Do not you see how they can cause earthquakes, and floods, and drought, and fires?”

Wow. So here we have the key: thinking that we may fully grasp the literal understanding of various prophecies may land us on the wrong track! Sometimes with prophecies they do not become clear until after the fact. This is a very important aspect we must not omit. Rather, as i suggested, i believe that watching the signs of the times gives us a better indication on how close or far we may be from the final act of the apocalypse.

“In due course, faith will collapse in Russia. The brilliance of earthly glory will blind the mind. The word of truth will be defiled, but with regard to the Faith, some from among the people, unknown to the world, will come forward and restore what was scorned.” Elder Porphyrius of Glinsk (+1868)

From the Prophecies of Elder Nectarius of Optina from a book printed in Romania that is also available online (link below)
“I see a huge plain, where there is a fierce battle between a mob of countless apostates and a small army of Christians. All apostates are well armed and fight following all the rules of the science of war, but the Christians are unarmed, at least I do not see them possessing any weapons. And I could already guess, to my horror, the conclusion of this unequal battle: the total victory of the countless apostates, because of the Christians have been left almost no one. All the apostates, together with their wifes and their children celebrating triumphantly.

Suddenly, an insignificant and very small group of Christians, among whom are women and children, run an unexpected attack against the apostates and in a moment the immense battlefield is cover with bodies of atheists and the countless gathering of apostates is reduced to nothing, moreover, to my astonishment without using any weapons.”

  • A New World “Christian” Order is Rising

(I wonder what is more dangerous: a NWO that is openly hostile to Christianity? or a NWO which presents a ‘pious and deceptive’ substitute for genuine Christianity? On which soil will the Antichrist be manifested?)

“…we desperately need to address the world with a united voice. Without being one Church, could we not act as one Church? Could we not present ourselves to secular society as a unified body?

I strongly believe that it is possible for the two Churches to speak with one voice; there can be a united Catholic-Orthodox response to the challenges of secularism, liberalism and relativism. Also in the dialogue with Islam, Catholics and Orthodox can act together…

The Roman Catholic Church has dealt with these questions in many documents of the magisterium, the most recent of which being the Compendium of the Social Doctrine of the Church, compiled by the Pontifical Commission “Justitia et Pax” and published in 2004.

In the Orthodox tradition the most significant document of this kind is the “Bases of the Social Concept of the Russian Orthodox Church,” published in 2000.

Both documents promote the priority of religious values over the interests of secular life. In opposing atheist humanism, they foster instead a humanism guided by spiritual values.

By this is meant a humanism “that is up to the standards of God’s plan of love in history,” an “integral humanism capable of ***creating a new social, economic and political order***, founded on the dignity and freedom of every human person, to be brought about ***in peace, justice and solidarity***.”

Comparison between the two documents reveals striking similarities in the social doctrines of the Roman Catholic and the Orthodox Churches. If our understanding of social issues is so similar, why can we not join forces in order to defend it?

I believe the time has come for all Christians who choose to follow the traditional line, notably the Catholics and the Orthodox, to form a common front in order to combat secularism and relativism, to conduct responsible dialogue with Islam and the other major world religions, and to defend Christian values against all challenges of modernity.”

    – Metropolitan Hilarion Alfeyev

    —————————————————————————–

What some Saints, Elders and trusted Orthodox Christians have said about such ideas:

    1) Metropolitan Hierotheos Vlachos: “Nor can I imagine St Gregory Palamas joining a council with Barlaam, Akindynos, Gregoras and their supporters to deal with various social problems of their time.”

    2) Fr. Seraphim Rose: “Contemporary spokesmen for Orthodoxy present as their goal the attainment of a time of ecumenical harmony, tolerance, and mutual respect — not a crusade for the conversion of souls.”

“This is outright heresy; or perhaps something even worse: the turning aside of the Church from her very purpose – the saving of souls for eternal life – and giving them over to the devil’s kingdom, promising a false blessedness on earth and condemning them to everlasting damnation.”

“We have seen a reform of Christianity that does away with the Church as an instrument of God’s grace for men’s eternal salvation and replaces it with the social gospel.”

“Is it possible, then, for an Orthodox Christian to stand with the very leaders of these religions and, for the moment, “forget” what distinguishes and divides the Church of Christ from all other religions and agree upon common “religious” aims that have nothing to do with salvation? … a “religion in general”, a religion of humanity concerned solely with earthly, human things – those “universal” worldly aspirations which, however elevated and desirable in themselves, have nothing to do with Christianity and the Christian spiritual life. He who ceases, even for a moment, to preach salvation in Jesus Christ in order to support the aims of this “universal” religion, ceases at that moment to be distinct from the world and its religions, ceases, in a word, to be a Christian…”

    3) Elder Athanasios Mitilinaios: “Before the False Prophet arrives, a state of affairs – not persons – that are projected as systems of global justice, philanthropy, love etc., will already be in place and all of them will be subservient to the Antichrist.” and “It (Christianity) did not come to travel and journey along with the other religions or to coexist peacefully with them, and to learn to get along. It came to dissolve the false faiths once and for all.”

    4) Fr. Constantine Zaitsev of Jordanville: “What then is the all-inclusive task for a “sovietified Christian” consciousness? The setting up of a state of well being on earth, realized simultaneously by both the faithful and atheists. But this is precisely the contemporary task of the communists! In addition, for both these and the others there exists a kind of common “evil”, opposed to both, with which they are jointing struggling.”

    5) Metropolitan Augoustinos (Kantiotes): Here is what the serpent says: O, Orthodox Church! Why do you keep your distance? Why are you afraid of me? I am no dragon; I am a sweet angel bearing the message of love. I am not going to hurt you. Keep your dogmas and your traditions. Leave these things to the theologians … I invite you into my room to discuss other matters. Let us make a common stand against hunger, against poverty, against atheism, against communism, against war.”

    6) Metropolitan Pavlos of Glyfada: “the dominant trend … (is) for the various Christian confessions to work (together) so as not to be seen as divided before (the) non-Christians as a result of doctrinal differences and to further show unity by placing a priority on issues of social justice and oppression of social classes. In other words, these Christian denominations said ‘look we cannot get together on doctrine, we cannot resolve our differences, at least let’s put those aside and lets work together on social issues – on helping the poor, on creating better opportunities for poor nations, and fighting the oppression of social classes.’ But what is wrong with this? … This steers the missionary and preaching efforts to give 1st priority to the formulation of methods of restoring social justice as opposed to spreading the truths of the gospel … So, it does not reveal the one truth and further degrades missionary work to a sociological instead of soteriological (related to salvation) perspective.”

    7) The new Martyr Fr. Daniel Sysoev: “They say there are traditional religions. – They’re ‘good’, because they are ancient. And because they have to co-exist peacefully for the sake of strengthening the state and society … (but) Religion does not exist to strengthen morality, nor to strengthen the state, but to communicate with God.

    8) St. John Chrysostom: “I reminded you many times about the atheist heretics, and now I implore you not to compromise with them on anything, do not eat or drink with them in the name of friendship, better relations, love or peace, because he who is swayed and compromises with them renders himself foreign to the Catholic Church.”

    9) From the Resolution of the Symposium of the Holy Metropolis of Piraeus on the Theme “Patristic Theology and Post-Patristic Heresy” which occurred in 2012: “…has been borrowed from Protestantism where it has been used for more than forty years to state the need, as they see it, for weight to be given to the witness of “churches” in social affairs, not in matters of the faith, because “dogmas separate”.

    10) Protopresbyter Michael Pomazansky: “A third similar mistake: if one combines the various Christian confessions which are weak in faith, weak in spirit, and weak in their influence on social life, then, in our age of religious skepticism, a power will be created, a power which would be able to oppose the anti-Christian powers of the world … In terms of ecumenism, what does “the establishment of the Kingdom of God on earth” mean? It means the social erection of the future world on earth. The new world must replace the former, old, decrepit, and supposedly destined-for-wreckage, social structure on earth. Now all attention, all strivings of Christianity, must be directed towards the idea, not of the personal salvation of each person, not concerning one’s soul, not about the future eternal life, but of building a society on new foundations.”

    11) Metropolitan Vitaly (ROCOR): “The so-called ‘Social Doctrine’ of the Moscow Patriarchate is a purely Roman Catholic concept which is foreign to the Orthodox Church and which, regardless of its possibly well-meaning intentions, holds nothing profitable for the Orthodox Christian.”

Going Stellar … (with Stellar Lumens …)

I have been hearing and reading more and more about a secret project involving IBM and Blockchain (using Stellar.org blockchain). It appears Ethereum has lost its favours with the powers that be because the performance of the new blockchain technology called stellar is literally out of this world and Ethereum cannot even come close to it, both due to much higher transaction costs as well as slow transaction processing. I have been doing some research and found that although this project is being implemented in the most secretive way, it is now complete (already used in production), all ready to go live … some details have started to surface … and it is scary.

Jim Rickards has been the most recognized economic authority talking about it for the last 2-3 months. The sort of details he put out are outright scary. Behind the scenes the IMF is working fervently to build a whole new financial system based on IBM and Stellar’s technology, which it is already being used live, but not having been announced yet. They plan to do so (announce it) in Q2 2018 – meaning sometime within the next 3 months, of else put, by the end of June 2018 ! Very little time left !

Jim Rickards also linked the coming “dollar reboot” to the official launch of this new “world currency”. Everything is being prepared as we speak and you are told nothing …

Various other major projects are also being prepared to be launched on the new network. When you listen to this interview (and is a must listen to) you will get a real sense of how ready they are to pull the trigger on this, how little you have been told about it, and how late the hour is … and explains the reason behind the chaos in the US – it will lead to “an event” soon to trigger all this to start rolling …

The petro-yuan-gold framework launch a few days ago is nothing more than a smaller piece of the puzzle in a bigger picture … listen to the interview bellow !

“Utilising the Stellar blockchain network with capabilities of +3,000 transactions per second and transaction confirmation times of 3-5 seconds, including complete ease of currency utilisation through extensive banking, payment and debit card facilities.”

    More about the IBM/Stellar framework:

Here is Jesse Lund (IBM’s Blockchain VP) answering a few questions about the new framework:

Q: “You co-authored an article with Jed McCaleb and Lindsay Lin on central banks issuing tokenized fiat, how far away do you think we are before we see central bank issued tokens on Stellar (or another platform)?”

    A: “VERY VERY CLOSE”

Q: “Is the Universal Payment Solution live on the Stellar network? When can we expect to see the network volume increase?”

A: “The prototype is live and we are onboarding clients now to the production version that will launch officially in Q2. You’ll begin to see a lot more XLM payment volume as the transaction volume grows. And yes, you’ll be able to see it on the Stellar network”

  • Psalm 106 fortells the miracle of fish catching

Psalm 106 foretells the miracle of fish catching (“his wonders in the deep”) that nearly broke the fishermen’s nets, performed before the eyes of the fishermen themselves (the Apostles); fishermen are those that “do business in great waters”.

The same psalm foretells the calming of the storm in the middle of the sea that caught the Ship with the Apostles in its roaring.

Psalm 106: “They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters; These men have seen the works of the Lord, and His wonders in the deep. He spake the word, and a stormy wind arose; and the waves thereof were lifted up. They mount up to the heavens, and they go down into the depths; their soul was melted away with evils. They were troubled, and they staggered as a drunken man; and all their wisdom was swallowed up. And they cried unto the Lord in their affliction, and He brought them out of their distresses. And He commanded the storm, and it was calmed into a breeze, and the waves thereof fell silent. And they were glad, because they were stilled; and He guided them to the haven of His will.”

  • Concerning the Bolshevik and Nihilist revolutions and the emergence of a “New Christianity”

Concerning how the Bolshevik and Nihilist revolutions purposefully evolved from “open warfare against God” to the presentation of a “new Christianity”:

“The entire world is progressing toward unity of doctrine and action. This is our most general profession of faith … While proclaiming that religion is destined to assert its rule over society, we certainly are far from holding that any of the religious institutions of the past should be re-established, as we are from claiming to lead society back to the old state of war or slavery. We proclaim a new moral and political state. This is just as thoroughly a new religious state: for to us religion, politics, and morals are merely different names for the same fact…. The religion of the future is called upon to take its place in the political order; but to be exact, when considered in its totality, the political institution of the future must be a religious institution.” – The Doctrine of Saint-Simon (19th century)

Of course, such an idea is profoundly anti-Orthodox and anti-Christian. The root of such a utopian blasphemy was the “father of lies” who instituted revolutionary movements of violence and murder in order to pave the way for this apostatic “new world religious order”. Thus, Satan inspired the Bolshevik revolution – not to “destroy all religion” but to create a “new religion, a new ‘christianity’”. This aim, ever present in the mind of Satan, was however veiled from the revolutionaries who served him. Regarding this, Fr. Seraphim stated, “The people who make the revolutions ordinarily do not see this — what the thing is beyond. But they all feel that in doing this they are destroying the whole weight of civilization, of religion, of tradition”; while he also recognized the exception to this blindness for, indeed, “the more profound revolutionaries saw that the revolution must become religious in the end. Atheism was only a transition in order to get rid of previous religious views.”

Regarding the Bolshevik and Nihilist revolutions, Fr. Seraphim Rose foresaw a “new religion” in the form of a “pseudo-Christianity” arising. He viewed the violence of the Bolshevik revolution as something needed to “destroy the old order” and thus to “clear the way for the building of the ‘new’”. This new religious order would be “all bound up with the idea of anarchy, the idea of overcoming nihilism”; it would mark “the end of the revolution, which a few very astute people have seen into and have spoken about.”

Yet what was to be expected after the destruction of the “old Orthodox Order” – what lies beyond nihilism?

Concerning this Fr. Seraphim wrote: “Violence and negation are, to be sure, a preliminary work; but this work is only part of a much larger plan whose end promises to be, not something better, but something incomparably worse than the age of Nihilism. If in our own times there are signs that the era of violence and negation is passing, this is by no means because Nihilism is being ‘overcome’ or ‘outgrown,’ but because its work is all but completed and its usefulness is at an end. The Revolution, perhaps, begins to move out of its malevolent phase and into a more “benevolent” one – not because it has changed its will or its direction, but because it is nearing the attainment of the ultimate goal which it has never ceased to pursue; fat with its success, it can prepare to relax in the enjoyment of this goal. The last hope of modern man is in fact but another of his illusions; the hope for a new age “beyond Nihilism” is itself an expression of the last item in the program of the Revolution. It is by no means Marxism alone that promotes this program.”

But what was/is the goal that Bolshevism/nihilism has ever pursued?

Fr. Seraphim reveals that “…out of all this destruction which the revolutionaries themselves do not know the meaning of” will be born “the profoundest anti-Christianity (which is), of course, the pseudo-Christianity which (was) the goal of the Revolution.”

The Zionists, meanwhile have likewise been working for the same evil “master” as the revolutionaries for (according to their Protocols) they are “re-educating youth in new traditional religions”, while stating “we shall not overtly lay a finger on existing churches…”

In the end, Fr. Seraphim relates, “the world will be ‘christian’, because it’s Antichrist who gives them a new religion, which is not something foreign to Christianity. It will not be some kind of paganism. It will be something which everyone will accept as Christianity, but will be anti-christian. A substitute for Christianity which denies the very essence of Christianity… It is not by means of persecution as it was in the beginning, but by means of taking Christianity and changing it so that it will no longer be Christian.”

It should also be noted that the mid-later revolutionaries may, according to Fr. Seraphim “accept the social, political, and economic transformations wrought by Marxism, while deprecating its violent means and its extremist ideology”. For such individuals, the anti-revolutionary or anti-communist criticism of “Marxism (does not go) beyond the proposal of better means to an end that is equally ‘revolutionary”! It seems that for people such as these, it is very possible to speak against communism (i.e. the violence and murder it offered) but to carry on its revolutionary social and religious agenda!

In closing, it may be asked: Did the revolutionary process of “changing Christianity” come to an abrupt halt with the fall of communism? Or are we simply witnessing the next (and more deceptive) phase of this revolutionary process?

Do we see a “triumph of Holy Orthodoxy”? or do we see new “moral, political, and religious (perhaps world-wide or multi-polar) state(s) or alliances” arising? Or perhaps we see both?

Perhaps we see the “triumph of Orthodoxy” in the hearts and lives of the Faithful remnant? while everywhere else we see apostasy, lies and the growing presentation of a new “global Christianity” (rooted especially in the acceptance of the supposed ecclesial status of “the others”, as well as in the presentation of a “common social mission” to build the idolatrous “Kingdom of Man” – the kingdom of the Antichrist!)?

  • True Christianity vs Social Gospel

“What we have here is a change of Christian theology into sociology, sociology baptized into a new theology. This new theology as expressed in this heretical article (which was written by a bishop of the Orthodox Church – G.B.) places the realization of the Kingdom of God within our history here on earth, advocating the liberation of man, not from sin but from poverty, from slavery, from racial discrimination, and in general from all the social systems which are used in various governments and cause people misery and unhappiness. This is the neo-Christian message. This is the new liberation theology (which was invented by the Soviets – G.B.).

But this is horrible because if we attempt to make Christianity cover and heal the social ills … and we are not at all concerned about the matter of sin; and we transfer the Kingdom of God to earth totally ignoring Heaven, then we have secularization in its fullness – a Christianity of this age … The true purpose of Christianity, my friends, is repentance, repentance for sin and the return to God…

So let us not talk about Christianity or a kingdom of this world; it is a great distortion. Christianity is salvation of the soul … when we distort the true meaning of Christianity, and when we teach other new theologies to our Christians, we will surely have a form of Godliness, but we will have denied the power of Christianity or Godliness. Needless to say the Spirit of God does not visit these states…

The world today is running and the church is almost out of breath trying to catch up and save the world. At the same time, here we see how cunning the devil is. The running distances the Church from Her main purpose and Her main mission: to truly save the people. The problem is that the church – in its attempt to run after the problems of contemporary man – falls into countless compromises. These compromises, in the final analysis do not save; they cannot save because they are the product of a desperate, secularized church. This is the work of the devil…

Truthfully speaking, a Church the keeps and maintains the spirit of repentance on the front burner, stressing precisely that spirit to the faithful – only that Church is walking the true path, because by doing so, souls are being earned for the Kingdom of God … a Church that does not stress the need for repentance at all times, is a Church of no help. It does not help people gain their salvation”

  • On the betrayal of Orthodoxy and Christ (Psalms 81-82)

If you read carefully you will notice striking similarities with today’s alliances and conspiracies of the betrayers with strangers and everyone else seeking to destroy Orthodoxy. Think Ecumenism as well as all the political machinations and conspiracies (involving all those tribes named bellow) devised to deceive. They betray the people for interests foreign to Orthodoxy (failing to “deliver him [the people] out of the hand of the sinner”; sinner = those who work in secret to catch the simple people into their trap).

“Rescue the poor and needy; deliver him out of the hand of the sinner. They have not known, nor understood; they walk on in darkness. Let all the foundations of the earth be moved. I have said, Ye are gods, and all of you are the children of the Most High. But ye die like men, and fall like one of the princes.

For lo, Thine enemies have made a tumult, and they that hate Thee have lifted up the head. They have taken wicked counsel against Thy people, and consulted against Thy saints. They have said, Come, let us cut them off, that they be no more a nation, and let the name of Israel be no more in remembrance. For they have consulted together with one consent; they have made a covenant against Thee, the tents of the Idumeans and the Ismaelites, Moab and the Hagarenes, Gebal and Ammon and Amalek, and the strangers, with them that dwell at Tyre. Assur also is come with them; they have holpen the children of Lot.”

One of the princes = Judah

The new covenant was signed in Crete, to preach a new gospel (Social Gospel), and to promote a different mission for the Churches (to “save the world”).

  • A thousand year rule?

Some will say that the “thousand year rule” of Christ shall soon begin. They will argue that satan is free today to do whatever destruction it desires, and argue that once Christ comes he will bind satan for a thousand years and establish his kingdom on Earth.

Orthodoxy says Christ has been ruling on Earth for a thousand years already, since He descended down to Hades and destroyed (severely limited) satan’s rule. Since then Christ has been ruling together with his saints through the establishment of the Orthodox Church. In this fallen world this is the maximum extent to which this earthly rule can be established. Paradise cannot exist in the world in its current state.

Yes, satan has been released from his bonds for a short while before the end, as the Apocalypse says, but that does not mean the rule of Christ has not already been going ever since the world has been reedemed through the death and resurrection of our Lord, and the subsequent decent of the Holy Spirit a few days later (the distinct sign of the establishment of the Church – the very kingdom of Heaven on Earth). The fact that the apocalypse states that satan shall be release for a short while before the end is proof he has in fact been bound for all this time.

The Holy Fathers say that satan’s temporary release was fulfilled with the murdering of the last royal family in Russia and the destruction of the Ortodox monarchy.

And you can tell the rule of satan started around the same time with two world wars having already occurred (and the third on its way). The money system has been destroyed as well, together with all the Christian values. Virtually nothing, absolutely nothing still stands …

The deception of the antichrist shall be that people will believe him when he will say “the bad times are behind us, the bad guys have been destroyed, and the good times shall now be around for a long time, nothing can stop it”. People will find it extremely difficult to not make their plans according to this false, worldly hope, when they will see that what seems to be heading for destruction shall turn to rebirth and prosperity (by simply ending wars, environmental destruction, sickness, financial inequality, poverty etc etc – these are all problems artificially created for this purpose, and they will also announce some medical and scientific breakthroughs that will stun the world).

Today the same false hope is also visible in the Church. Those who think that the situation is turning around (on a large scale) in the realm of official Ortodoxy do not really understand the situation. They are just hanging on the same thin thread, hoping that after a period of evident destruction of the faith (communism) things seem to be heading in the right direction.

    They are not.

  • Psalm 138 – Christ Is Risen

Psalm 138 foretold that Christ would descend into Hades, which would “blow up” and lighten like day, and free the righteous from their bonds ! Our Holy Fathers say that because the devil did not understanding who Christ really was (see below), devised a plan to have Him killed so that he (the devil) could get his hands on Him, as up to that point in time all those who had died were going straight to Hell – the world had not been redeemed just yet.

“And I said, Surely the darkness shall cover me, and in my pleasure shall the night be turned to day. For darkness will not be darkness with Thee, but night shall be bright as day; as is the darkness, even so shall be the light thereof.”

    Then it continues:

“My bones are not hid from Thee, which Thou hast made in secret; nor my substance in the lowest parts of the earth.” Here is foretold that He was to be burried and He would descend down to hell (“lowest parts of the earth”).

Another mystery is hidden in this verse, which is very much bound up with the mystery of Christ’s death and resurrection: “My bones … which Thou hast made in secret”. This indicates the divine plan devised by God to hide the Godly nature of Christ by being brought into the world through birth like everyone else, and having appointed Joseph as His protector so that the conception would not look suspicious to the prying eyes of the world.

The resurrected Christ shall then show Himself to the Apostles, who will then be greatly strengthened in their faith and who will be given authority to establish the Ortodox Church and spread the truth throughout all of the Earth.

“Exceeding honoured also are Thy friends unto me, O God! Their rule is greatly strengthened. I will tell them, and they shall be multiplied in number more than the sand; when I awake, I am still with Thee.”

How wonderful this Psalm 138 is !

  • And saith unto them, “Peace be unto you”

    John 20: 19 – 21

    19. Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
    20. And when he had so said, he shewed unto them his hands and his side. Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the Lord.
    21. Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.

What is this peace our Lord Jesus Christ speaks about? When the Savior appeared to His Disciples, they were hiding for fear of the Jews, but He said: “Peace be unto you”. What is this peace about? The Jews were seeking to catch the Apostles and kill them, thus they were hiding from them. They were clearly not at peace with the world which was trying to destroy them. What peace is then the Savior speaking of?

It is the Spiritual Peace – that peace that helps man overcome fear and grows in him the desire to unite only with God in truth. It is the peace that strengthens man and prepares him for the path of his cross, is the peace that streams the power to confess the truth, it is that saving peace, it is that peace that gives faith victory over fear and despondency, and it is that peace that prepares man to accept anything sent his way in his earthly struggles in his quest to confess Christ and gain the Heavenly Kingdom.

“Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.”

When Christ told them these words, they knew that they were to go through the same path as He had just completed. And they accepted it in peace!

This is the peace acquired by the Christians whom are thrown to the lions. It is the peace of the Saints in face of their martyrdom.

Here’s the true peace, not the worldly peace everyone seeks and which can only bring earthly comfort!
